MANTIS DATA - RAPID FIRE TEST

Trigger Comparison Experiment

THE EXPERIMENT:
As part of our research, we conducted a 10-shot rapid-fire drill for 4 popular industry triggers to compare them to our trigger with its patented technology. We used the Mantis Blackbeard System for its unique ability to record shot times and detect variables that impact accuracy, from trigger jerking to head pressure on the firearm.
The controlled variables of the experiment were the firearm, the shooter, and the time limit. While the only independent variable was the trigger used. The dependent variable in this experiment was the speed at which the shooter was able to rapidly fire and the impact on accuracy that the trigger had as a result of the conditions of the experiment.

THE RAPID FIRE DRILL:
We chose the conditions of a rapid fire drill because it forced the shooter to replicate the common response that is seen from security footage to bodycams when someone is engaging a target in a fire-fight. This time constraint also reduces the opportunity for the individual participating in the experiment to introduce bias.
By operating under these parameters, we wanted to compare the utility of each trigger in as close to a real-world scenario as possible since the controlled environment of a shooting range might not provide accurate data representing real-world applications where trigger control is most affected.

THE RESULTS:
The results of the experiment were enlightening; where the popular industry triggers had unique features with slight variations in pull weights, there was no distinct pattern in their performance from the repeated experiment. Our technology consistently demonstrated a reduction in trigger-related issues while improving overall accuracy.
THE CONCLUSION we have come to is that traditional triggers - regardless of some of the unique and enjoyable features - work against the shooter when conditions are not compatible with focusing on trigger control. The pin rotation design - while functional - creates inconsistency for the shooter in scenarios outside the controlled conditions of a shooting range.
